A dynamic region

Nano Connect Scandinavia is centered on the regions in Denmark, Sweden and Norway that are tied together by the strait of Øresund, Kattegat and Skagerrak. This is a dynamic region with two national capitals: Copenhagen and Oslo, and 9.2 million inhabitants.

There are 34 universities with 340,000 students and 14,000 PhD students in the region, as well as 24 science parks and incubators. Research is of a high international standard and has produced several Nobel laureates. The region is also home to more than 24 science parks and incubators.

The Øresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak-region is well connected through international roads, ferries and trains. The port of Gothenburg is one of the largest in Northern Europe, and handles more than 43 million tons each year. Copenhagen International Airport is the largest in Northern Europe with direct flights to more than 120 destinations. In total, the region has 10 international airports.
