Citylogistikservice

The aim of Citylogistikservice is to develop and demonstrate an innovative city logistics service in the center of Copenhagen. This will both reduce the negative environmental impacts from logistics and at build on a business concept that provides value added services for the customers and does not need public subsidises in order to run.

The project was approved by the end of 2010 and is during the first months of 2011 under contract negotiation with “Center for Grøn Transport” (the Danish Ministry of Transport).

The concept is to establish a goods consolidation center close to the city center which supplies the stores with small electrical vehicles instead of large diesel trucks. The grant agreement covers the two first stages of the project which focus on developing the concept. The partners are Øresund Logistics, Copenhagen Business School, Technical University of Denmark and the City of Copenhagen. The project is inspired by Dutch city logistics concept called Binnenstadservice.
